The Smiling Cat

If you ever read Lewis Carroll’s book, Alice in Wonderland, you must know about the Cheshire Cat. This cat is mad, so he said. He loves to smile and has a particular trait of its own. But a smiling cat, the Cheshire Cat is only exists in a story book, or is it? To answer that, you might as well see the cat that I saw sitting in front of a house. It looked like it was the usual cat, who ignores people who goes by now and then. Something intrigued me though about it, so I took some pictures. When I got home and saw the photos, I couldn’t believe what I saw. I thought the cat was smiling, the kind of corner-smile that someone has when flirting with a camera. Could it be, this cat was the Cheshire Cat?

“And how do you know that you’re mad? “To begin with,” said the Cat, “a dog’s not mad. You grant that?” I suppose so, said Alice. “Well then,” the Cat went on, “you see a dog growls when it’s angry, and wags its tail when it’s pleased. Now I growl when I’m pleased, and wag my tail when I’m angry. Therefore I’m mad.”
